About Our Club

Three of the most successful clubs in Mississippi have decided to work together in a partnership to improve and enhance youth soccer, not just in the metro-Jackson area, but state-wide.

Why has United been created?

We are joining forces with the mentality of putting the players first.  We will be able to give more playing opportunities to players at all levels.  We are combining the 3 best coaching staffs in Mississippi to ensure our players have the very best on a daily basis.  We will be able to offer more development for coaches and more strategic planning to ensure are players are developing and enjoying the game.

Is this an acquisition, a merger, etc?

Our three clubs are coming together through a merger and the creation of a new entity.  One club is not acquiring another and the three clubs are being integrated to become a single entity from a structural, operational, and cultural point of view in the 2002 – 2005 age groups without losing the respective community-based identities, brands, and cultures.

What happens for the players that are younger than the U16 level (Born 2006 or Younger)?

Players younger than the United age groups will continue to play in their communities at the existing clubs. Mississippi Rush, Brandon Futbol Club, and Brilla Juniors plan to host their own separate tryouts for ages 2006 and below.

How will leadership work inside the club?

Each club will be represented in the staff with administrators, directors, and coaches contributing to the improved experience for our members on and off the field, and the decisions made at the executive level will be also taken by a group of leaders representing each of the member clubs.

Where will the Mississippi Rush United Teams train? How often will these teams train?

Total Training Sessions – 3x a week.

Team Training – Twice a Week: The plan for all merged teams is to train with their specific team twice a week at Jackson Futbol Club.

Pool Training – Once a Week:

On top of their two weekly training sessions, there will be a third training session called “Pool Training” in the player’s local respective city. The host locations would be in Clinton, MS at Traceway Park, Brandon, MS at Shiloh Park, and JFC for those local to Jackson.

**All locations are subject to change at the discretion of the United Staff**

What does “Pool Training Mean”?

Pool training will be for United players to have a third opportunity to train at a venue closer to their home, hopefully minimizing travel. Players will train with players from their team, plus players potentially an age group above or below them.  A coach from one of the teams will run the training session for their group.

Who will be coaching the United Teams?

Each team will have a licensed coach that is the best fit for the teams level and gender. The United Directors plan to have a coaching slate out in May.

What led to the selection of the name, “Mississippi Rush United”?

We believe the combined entity is better served being part of the RUSH affiliated youth soccer club and the attendant umbrella benefits that result from being part of the National Rush System. It is also a perfect example of what we are and what we are moving towards; which is uniting Mississippi soccer to give the players the best opportunity and experience in the state.
